Amanda Saurin is the founder, a plant grower and gatherer, distiller and maker at ASAPOTH. She is a traditional Apothercary. Amanda has worked with herbs and homeopathy for many years developing truly effective, gentle, whole plant preparations. Whilst living in the Levant, she learnt and gradually perfected the art of distillation to create exquisite aromatics and essential oils from plants that she collected in the gardens of Sufis, the mountains of Kyrenia and the citrus groves bordering the Mediterranean. An appreciation of the transformative nature of scent, of the rhythm of the plants, of their terroir, of landscape and the inter-connectedness of us all, are pivotal to the philosophy that underpins and informs Amanda’s work. Through ASAPOTH she brings together her love of plants, growing, making, healing and collaboration to produce beautiful products that capture the essence and vitality of plants to revitalise both skin and spirit.

Julie joined A.S Apothecary from the very beginning. We met on a beach in Cyprus many years ago, and when I moved back to the UK, I persuaded her to leave the sunshine and join us in Lewes. She is an excellent and intuitive maker, an incredibly versatile and dedicated team member and my absolute right hand woman. She has joined me on picks up mountains, fought through thickets of Gorse, she has been attacked by Meadowsweet drying racks and endured freezing temperatures in the barn. She is a star. She is also our resident DJ.

For any issues of production she can be contacted on

With a background in perfumery and design, Fern has shown herself to be an excellent balm and candle maker. She is also happy to dash around finding plants that we need and to help Miranda in the distilling garden. She is a wonderful asset to the team.

cate steele •maker & Olive oil producer

Since we started A.S Apothecary, Cate has been a regular visitor to the workshop as the supplier of her own cold pressed Cretan extra virgin olive oil. It is an extraordinary product made with such care and attention and full of polyphenols to benefit the skin. When we needed another maker, Cate was the obvious choice, she is really talented and suitably wild, applying the same ethos to making our products as she does to caring for her olives on Mesto mountain. We love having her in the workshop (until she sings)

angela psaras •accounts manager

One day a couple of years ago, the day before our accounts needed to be submitted, I was sitting with a carrier bag of receipts and malfunctioning account software and I was desperate. Then someone told me about Angie. Within minutes she was employed and she started the next day. We have never looked back as she has been an absolute angel. As with all our team, Angie turns her hand to anything to help out, but the mainstay of her work is to manage all our accounts. She is careful, chases every penny down and brooks no opposition. We love her.

for any accounting issues please contact her on

miranda Beith •gardener

It may seem strange to have our gardener holding a cushion but Miranda is a woman of many talents. She runs desertlandbags, producing bags and cushions and she is our gardener - the keeper of the plants. When Miranda took over the distilling garden at the farm, she took the time to really understand what we wanted and needed. Our plants are the lifeblood of the business, without them, we literally have nothing. Unusually for gardening work, we asked her to work slowly to take the time to get to know the plants, the lie of the land and our curious systems for drying and storing our plants. Miranda rose to the challenge and our garden is magnificent - every plant is cared for, picked and pruned at the right moment. it is a joy to visit. She has such a beautiful way with the plants. We are so thrilled to have her in the ASAPOTH family.
